Legal notice

Last updated: May 14, 2026

This Legal Notice sets out the copyright, trademark, and intellectual property positions of the Grand Library and of the publishers whose works are distributed through our store, and explains how to report infringement.

The Grand Library as Distributor

The Grand Library is the authorized distributor of works published by the Institute of Creation and, in future, may distribute works from other publishers. The Grand Library operates the store, handles sales and delivery, and manages customer service for these works. Intellectual property rights in the works themselves — including copyright in the text, design, and content of the guides we sell — belong to the publisher of each work, not to the Grand Library.

The Grand Library is authorized by the Institute of Creation to act on its behalf in matters relating to the sale, distribution, and enforcement of IOC's intellectual property through our store.

Copyright

Content owned by the Grand Library. All material on our store that is not part of a published work — including the store's design, layout, branding, copy, photography, and the selection and arrangement of these elements — is the copyrighted property of the Grand Library, its affiliates, or its licensors.

Content owned by the Institute of Creation. The published works distributed through our store — including the ebooks, guides, PDFs, written text, illustrations, frameworks, methodologies, and the selection and arrangement of these elements — are the copyrighted property of the Institute of Creation.

All copyrighted material is protected under the Copyright Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Berne Convention, and international copyright treaties.

No part of any copyrighted material may be reproduced, distributed, transmitted, displayed, published, broadcast, modified, sold, sublicensed, or used to create derivative works, in any form or by any means, without the prior written permission of the relevant copyright holder, except as expressly permitted by our Terms of Service or by applicable law (such as limited quotation for criticism, comment, or review).

The license granted to buyers of our digital products is described in Section 6 of our Terms of Service.

Reporting Infringement

If you become aware of any unauthorized use of copyrighted works or trademarks belonging to the Grand Library or to the Institute of Creation — including pirated copies of our products, unauthorized resale, derivative works created without permission, or impersonating accounts — please report it to us at legal@thegrandlibrary.earth.

Please include in your report:

A description of the work or trademark being infringed.

The URL, platform, or location where the infringement appears.

Any supporting evidence (screenshots, links, account names).

Your name and contact information.

We investigate every credible report. As the authorized distributor of Institute of Creation works, the Grand Library is empowered to take enforcement action on IOC's behalf, including notice-and-takedown requests to hosting providers, payment processors, and platform operators. The Institute of Creation retains independent enforcement rights and may pursue claims directly where it chooses to do so.

Notice-and-Takedown Procedure for Content on Our Store

If you are a copyright owner, or are authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe that content available on the Grand Library infringes your copyright, please send a written notice to legal@thegrandlibrary.earth.

To be valid, your notice must include all of the following:

Identification of the copyrighted work that you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, a representative list will suffice.

Identification of the allegedly infringing material, including the URL, page, or product where it appears on our store, with enough specificity to enable us to locate it.

Your contact information, including your full name, postal address, telephone number, and email address.

A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.

A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.

A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or the person authorized to act on their behalf.

This procedure complies with the takedown notice requirements of the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), 17 U.S.C. § 512, and is consistent with the notice provisions of the Copyright Act of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (Cap. C28, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004, as amended), the European Union Digital Services Act (Regulation (EU) 2022/2065), and the United Kingdom Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988.

Upon receipt of a valid notice, we will:

Acknowledge receipt within five business days.

Investigate the claim promptly, in consultation with the relevant publisher where applicable.

Remove or disable access to the allegedly infringing material if the notice is valid, or explain our position if we believe the use is lawful.

Notify the user or party responsible for the material, where appropriate, of the takedown.

Counter-notice. If material you posted has been removed in response to a takedown notice and you believe the removal was a mistake or that you have the right to use the material, you may submit a counter-notice to legal@thegrandlibrary.earth containing the same elements as above, together with a statement under penalty of perjury that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.

Repeat infringers. Accounts that are the subject of repeated valid infringement notices may be terminated at our discretion.

Misrepresentation. Submitting a knowingly false takedown notice or counter-notice may result in legal liability. We reserve the right to pursue claims against parties who misuse this procedure.

Limitation of This Notice

This Legal Notice supplements but does not replace the intellectual property and license provisions in our Terms of Service. In the event of any conflict between this Notice and the Terms of Service, the Terms of Service control.
